The New York Giants is a pro football team established in 1925. The name was borrowed from the eponymous baseball team, a practice that was common in the past. The Giants were a prominent team even then, clinching the league's best record during their 3rd season. They were also instrumental in bringing more attention to pro football, battling against the college team from Notre Dame. At the time, amateur college football was preferred over the professional league. The Giants easily scored to win against Notre Dame. The Giants have won 7 championships in the NFL, 3 of them Super Bowl victories. They have won 10 Conference championships, 15 Division championships and have made 30 playoff appearances.
The Giants play at the New Meadowlands Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, one of the boroughs of Bergen County. It holds the record of being the only city with a population of less than 10,000 to have been a home for 5 teams in professional sports. East Rutherford is home to the Meadowlands Museum, which offers an excellent peek at the historical past of the municipality. East Rutherford also offers plenty of choices in culinary delights, particularly for visitors craving for Asian and Mexican food. Restaurants such as Taos Wok and Bar, Fiesta Hut and Park and Orchard offer their own versions of tasty treats.
