The Cleveland Browns was founded in 1946, one of the charter members of the All-America Football Conference. After the demise of the AAFC in 1950, the team became members of the NFL. The Browns were named after Paul Brown, former coach of the Ohio State Buckeyes and later head coach of the team. The Browns has clinched 8 league championships and won 4 AAFC titles, the most memorable of which was their undefeated 1948 season. They have also won 4 championships with the NFL before it merged with the AFC in 1970. The Browns' winning percentage is the 6th highest in the NFL.
