Learn more about the Rockets:
Donning your Houston Rockets jerseys also means donning quite a bit of history. The Houston Rockets might today be based in Texas, and they might be playing in the Western Conference, and in the Southwest Division of the NBA, but did you know that they were first formed in San Diego, California? The team was born in 1967, and was moved to Houston after four years. In their first season, they won a total of only 15 games. But after they drafted superstar Elvin Hayes, they started getting more wins under their belt.
As the 1980's rolled around, the Rockets started soaring. Although they didn't get a championship in their finals adventure in 1984, they continued to play, never losing heart or speed.
Ready to launch off into space, or close enough? Houston is also home to the Johnson Space Center and the Mission Control Center of NASA. So if you're not at the game, you can take tours of the facilities, and even see some rockets being launched. No, Houston, you won't have a problem having fun, whether you're at the game or in the city.
