Learn More about the Nets:
Get ready for some team facts and history as you prepare to wear your Brooklyn Nets jerseys. The Brooklyn Nets play under the Atlantic Division of the NBA's Eastern Conference, and have their home games in Newark, New Jersey's Prudential Center. When the 2012-2013 season rolls around, however, the Nets will be moving to Brooklyn, New York, where they will become the Brooklyn Nets. There, they will play at the newly-built Barclays Center.
This move comes as no surprise. The YankeeNets sold the basketball franchise to a New Jersey group, and plans have long been in place to move the team to Brooklyn, in the Prospect Heights neighborhood. This means that since the Dodgers have left, the Nets will be the first major league team to play in the Brooklyn area.
In their current home, the Brooklyn Nets enjoy a highly industrialized state. New Jersey boasts of a gambling center, burgeoning businesses, and metropolitan areas. The same will be true up in Brooklyn, when the Nets make their new home. Grab their jerseys before the transfer happens!
